Camping holidays in France for adults only
Our editor was chatting to a chap called Stuart in the Lot region recently who has a site down there which he and his wife Sue run and which caters soley for adults. Our man immediately thought, "What an excellent idea!" because it isn't everyone who wants to spend their valuable holiday time slap bang next to a family whose badly brought up children run wild and spoil things for everyone else, whilst the parents laze in the sun with a bottle of France's best, totally oblivious to the mayhem their brats are causing.
Of course the above doesn't apply to all families, and nor are all parents so utterly useless and uncaring of others' feelings, but by the same token, there are more than enough Brit families who are in that category, and it is easy enough to see that Sue and Stuart will make inroads into the camping holiday market because of their stance, and we believe that once the word gets around they will be well overbooked.
So, you site owners in France, if you are reading this page you are welcome to have a free mention here (though we would appreciate a link back)
Stuart and Sheila describe their Château de Lacomte Country Retreat as follows: "There are 89 fully serviced pitches, all a minimum size of 110 sq m, offering 10 amp electrics, own drain and water tap. Everything you need right outside your caravan. Hidden within a truly calm and tranquil setting within picturesque natural surroundings nestling in the heart of The Regional Park of The Causses du Quercy, between the Lot and Dordogne rivers."
Adults only camping holidays are for those of us who like a tad more peace and quiet to go with our time in France, and it is a proven fact that this sort of holiday is very popular in the UK with all age ranges from the early 20's to the upper 80's, so we fully expect it to catch on "big style" in Lot and many other regions of France.
