Information about the camping resources in and around Benodet, southern Finisterre, Brittany between the Odet River and the Atlantic Ocean

Well most of us have heard of Benodet and some of us have even been there but sadly for that lovely town there are lots who believe that it is a town in Spain, which only goes to prove the old adage that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing! There is little point in our repeating how to get there because apart from the last few KM your route will be exactly as it is for Beg-Meil and Concarneau, as you can see here on the Beg-Meil page.

Benodet is a charming seaside resort which also has a famous cultural and maritime heritage which can be found within the harbour where both working and pleasure craft lie side by side at the quay. We have linked to a map of the whole region which will allow you to see not only Benodet but the nearby towns and it's proximity to the sea.

Camping here is no problem at all as there are sites in the region which accept take your own equipment camping, pre-erected tent camping where the company you book with provides tents fully supplied with beds, cooker, fridge/freezer and utensils, and of course the mainstay of the camping industry these days, the mobile home. Mobile home camping is extremely popular right across the board as they have toilets and showers which tents do not. That little touch of extra luxury, and of course, if it does happen to rain then you also have more protection.

There is something in Benodet for everyone and activities are both land and water based. Watersports in the region include sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and kite surfing, either bring your own or hire from a variety of nearby centres. There is golf, tennis, hiking, petaneque, cycling or just relaxing watching others do their thing, and for the less sporting there is a cinema and casino complex, concerts and exhibitions which are held here year round.

This is certainly a family friendly region which lends itself to holidays of the camping variety.
