Camping in Agay, Côte d’Azur

Agay 40 years ago was just another dusty little village, as were its neighbours St Raphael and Frejus, which are virtually joined together now. It has changed over the years but this little place still retains a great deal of the small town/village character which was so obvious all those years ago.
The weather here is really superb, and the whole region gets more sunshine than anywhere else in France, with the exception of the Languedoc next door. Beaches are great in this vicinity, and they are safe too because the Med has such a shallow tide for most of the year.
Having said that, surfing is probably the only water sport to be unavailable around Agay as there is kite surfing, wind surfing, boat hire, water skiing and all the other associated bits and pieces which go towards making the ideal lazy holiday such as sunbathing and sitting at kerbside cafes having a cool drink or a meal.
Other nearby destinations include Nice, which is the nearest of the larger resorts to Monaco and the French/Italian border. Coming west down the coast there is Antibes and Juan les Pins and Cannes.
