Camping in France is so popular because of it's proximity to the UK and the ease of access into ports right across the northern coast. Holland is also another popular choice again, because it's very easy to get there. Families with young children see this as a major plus point when booking their holiday.

When to go on a Camping Holiday

To keep your camping holiday as cheap as possible and if you're able to, it's always a good idea to book a campsite out of season (May/June or Sept/Oct). Our prices at campsites across France offer excellent value for money throughout the camping season however, the off peak prices are worth looking at if you're on a budget. Whereas maybe in the height of summer you might have booked tent accommodation to keep costs low, out of season you could probably enjoy the added luxury of a 2 or 3 bedroom mobile home for the same price! Although there are plenty of pools, waterslides and other activities available at your campsite, do be aware that certain facilites or activities may only be available on your chosen campsite during the summer months and school holidays.

Getting there! Transport Options

Whilst a flight from the UK will often get you to your destination within a few hours, you also have to factor in the waiting around at the airport, limits to how much luggage you can carry as well as the cost of a hire car to get you to your campsite once you arrive in the country. If you're a family of 4, the cost of 4 air fares, airport parking and car hire will send your budget rocketing!

Driving from the UK to your chosen camping destination means that you have a wider choice of where to depart/arrive. You may opt for a slightly more expensive ferry crossing to avoid less driving once in France.
