Information about self catering family camping and camping holidays

Family camping is all about having fun, relaxation for parents as well as children, staying out later than the usual bedtime, hitting the beach whenever possible and eating when you feel like it.

If children become used to camping holidays with family early in their lives then the concept of camping can stay with them for life, and possibly as in our case, be passed on to their own children. We started in tents many years ago but camping holidays are not just about tent camping these days as anything remotely to do with outdoor living such as Yurts, Tipis, Pods, static caravans and mobile homes all come under the banner of camping or camping holidays.

Family tent camping is a great way having a fun holiday and is also a crafty way of making your kids a little bit independent by alloting them some responsibility for certain jobs around camp, putting tables and chairs out or fetching bread etc from the local shop. Even though camping holidays are self catering you can spread the workload so that everyone is involved from the start.

You don't have to cart your ancient leaky old tent with you for a camping holiday these days as there are loads of companies out there who hire them out on site complete with all the bits and pieces you need such as cooker and utensils, fridge freezer, all crockery, beds but you are best making enquiries about bedding when you book. Basically, you and your family just move in and get on with your hols.

If you prefer your camping holiday to be more luxurious then why not stay in a mobile home? Sometimes these don't cost any more than the tents but they do afford that wee bit more luxury and security, plus the fact that they all have showers and toilets, always handy if you have a young family.
