Cheap Family Camping Holidays in France

A family camping holiday to France doesn't have to be expensive by any means. There are many different ways to keep your family holiday cheap and costs to a minimum!

To search and book a cheap family camping holiday with Just Camping France, use the booking engine to select your preferred country and camping destination.

Here are a few ideas as to how you could keep your camping holiday as inexpensive as possible!

Book a holiday in Low Season

If you have children under 5 and are able to travel outside of school holidays then we strongly suggest that you book your holiday in May, June, September or October. Where you may have opted for tent accommodation during a more expensive period, it's well worth booking a 2 or 3 bedroom mobile home if you do stay on a campsite during a quieter time. It is worth noting however that there may be certain facilities that may only be available during school holidays and the high season.

Package your Camping Holiday with a Ferry Crossing

Ferry travel from the UK to France and if you have young children, regardless of the driving it makes the experience altogether more enjoyable! Children notoriously require a lot of 'stuff' and trying to take everything on a plane just isn't possible! Being able to pile, not only more suitcase but bikes, scooters and anything else into the car avoids a lot of hassle and dad huffing and puffing trying to carry everything!

There's a choice of campsites within only a few hours of a ferry port which avoids

If convienient and to reduce travelling costs further, try and travel earlier in the morning or later in the day. Ferry prices are cheaper during these times and it can often save you a lot of money!

Self-Catering

The great thing about a camping holiday is that it is self-catering. Most campsites offer barbecue facilities and all the tents and mobile homes have plenty of space for food preparation. Although there are often onsite mini markets which are great if you've forgotten something, get yourself down to the local market or supermarket and stock up on everything you'll need!

There are some great restaurants at the vast majority of campsites so if you do get chance to treat yourself - try some local cuisine and delicacies!
