Cheap camping and cheap family camping holidays in France

Tent camping is cheap wherever you go, in fact if you have all your own gear and are willing to transport it over the Channel to France then you will have not only cheap camping for all the family but probably the best quality camping sites in Europe. Pristine clean shower and toilet blocks are normal in France, whilst unfortunately we have to say that there are some here in the UK which don't warrant too close an inspection.

However, camping is not just about tents as the term includes caravans, mobile homes, statics, Yurts, Tipis and Pods, and staying in a mobile home with some of the smaller tour operators in France can work out as cheap or cheaper than staying in one of the pre-erected tents with fridge, cooker etc included. It all depends on how much the hire company wants to make out of you. Best advice: Look around and get more than one price for your holiday, but by the same token you really should compare those quotes for the same holiday dates.

So, if you have room in your vehicle for your tent and all the other equipment you need for camping then you are in line for the cheapest holiday possible at somewhere between 8 and 12 Euros per night, which is a similar price to camping in the UK for once. The thing is though, if you take your own gear you are free to move as and when you want, and these days you are pretty well bound to be able to get a pitch on demand, without pre-booking that is, so you don't have to make long journeys to your destination because you can stop and pitch virtually at will.
