Camping in France during 2010 - cheaper than the UK equivalent!

As ever in this site: for camping holidays, read either tent camping or mobile home holidays.

At the time of writing, which is early January 2010, lots of people are wondering precisely what will happen this season and beyond. We all need a holiday now and then, and the way things are with the UK still deeply in recession, then most of us need those holidays to be as cheap as possible whilst still being an enjoyable experience for all the family.

There is no doubt whatsoever that the present financial turmoil embroiling the UK has hit companies selling European holidays fairly hard (whatever they say to the contrary), mainly because of the drop in the value of the good old £ pound Sterling, which has enabled greedy holiday companies and hotel groups based in the UK to "clean up" as it were.

This recession has hit families hard too but, just like Baldrick in Blackadder we have a cunning plan - why not take a camping holiday in France? OK, you can argue that the Pound is about the same as the Euro which is going to make it an expensive hol, but if you take a look at our page about holiday savings you will realise than it can work out far cheaper than you ever thought - and cheaper than the equivalent holiday here in the UK drizzle.

We have spoken at length to tour operators and French holiday companies alike and they all have one thing in common - they become filled to capacity during the school holidays. Good for them, but that is at the height of summer when the prices are steepest because of school holidays, so those without children might give a thought to taking their holidays in late May, anytime in June or the first couple of weeks in July when it is far, far cheaper and when lots of tour operators have special offers.

The weather is usually great anyway and the early and late times are far cheaper so it's well worth giving that suggestion a try for the 2010 camping holiday season.
