Camping holidays in the South West of France
The South West of France is a term often used to refer to several different areas of France. When mentioned, most are generally referring to the Aquitaine and Dordogne regions with perhaps the Charente as it's most northerly point.
The south west region of France offers many campsites in or close to both popular and picturesque towns. The area has climates as good as anywhere in France for camping holidays though the further south you go near to the Pyrenees there is slightly more wet weather due to the clouds hitting the mountain peaks.
Getting there is easy too. Possibly the best ferry ports to sail into for this trip are Caen or St Malo, and both have fast dual carriageway/motorway access to the south west. It however still be a long drive and so we often advise our customers to book into a hotel for the night halfway through the journey.
