A little about Landudec, how to get there and the camping resources you will find in that region of Finisterre in south west Brittany.

Landudec is a tiny little place on the crossroads of the D2 and the D784 about 20 km west of Quimper. It isn't on the coast but is near enough to make no matter if you have a car.

There is plenty to do and see in the area, and Quimper is a great place to start if you love shopping! If you can tear yourself away from the beach then there are plenty of other towns and villages to explore, most of them being on or near the coast as you travel east towards Lorient and Vannes.

Nearby are the popular resorts of benodet, Beg-Meil and Concarneau, and a little further down the coast you will get to Carnac where the standing stones (megaliths) are. Turning off towards the sea through carnac takes you to Quiberon - not very interesting at all until you get to the end of the peninsular where Quiberon town is.

We think that camping and mobile home holidays need to be near a beach - a personal point of view only - and beaches are abundant near Landudec in the shape of lots of sand and lots of rocks. Take care when swimming off the beach though because it can be quite rough and there may well be rocks underfoot.

You don't get the surfing opportunities here like you do in the Vendee and further south down the west coast of the country, but you most probably know that anyway.

Getting there? Well that's easy enough but this is a fair old trek from the north eastern ports like Calais and the Tunnel so we seriously advise you to use one of the nearer ferry ports which may well be dearer but you have far less mileage to cover which saves a fortune in fuel and time.

We suggest tha the best ports for this trip are Cherbourg, Caen, St Malo and Roscoff. From Cherbourg and Caen you need to head for Avranches >>>>>Dinan and on to Quimper. The road signing is excellent so you can't get lost.

Circumnavigate Quimper and you then head out to Landudec and your camping site.
