The Vendee forms part of the Pays de la Loire region located on France's Atlantic coast (Bay of Biscay), just south of Brittany and Nantes.

As well as more than 280 animals to see the zoo also provides home and care for more than 40 endangered species. This is a great day out and ideal for families with younger children.
Older kids will love this waterpark, located in the very heart of the Vendée region in the popular town of St Hilaire de Riez. Choose from a variety of pools, waterslides and more including a Kamikaze tobaggan! Plenty for younger children too.
Ile de Noirmoutier
Reached via bridge or Le Gois causeway (during low tide), the Ile de Noirmoutier is a lovely little island which, along with some impressive beaches is home to the Oceanile Water park.
A visit to La Rochelle is well worth it during your stay if you're able. A walled city, a good proportion of the walls are still in good condition today. You can walk round them with ease and look down into the city or the water on the seaward side. There are also lots of places to eat, drink and shop - a great place to spend the day!
