Camping Holidays in Provence

Where the border of Languedoc finishes the border of Provence begins - at least that is so in terms of going from west to east, and Provence carries on to the border with Italy. The department also has a shared coastline with Languedoc which begins just west of Marseille.

The Provence region has always been a popular destination for tourists and there are no shortage of reasons why! There's the historic city of Arles with its Romain remains, Ampitheatre and Palais Constantine. A visit to Avignon and the Palais de Papes is a must-see not to mention the abundance of countryside, gorges & pretty lavender fields!

We have one campsite in Provence which is the Domaine Du Verdon in Castellane. The village is located at the northern end of the Gorges du Verdon. There's plenty to explore down the narrow streets with medieval houses including the Chapel of Notre-Dame du Roc where a 12th Century chapel sits on a large, cliff-sided rock. Close by there's a whole manner of activities available like hiking, cycling and water sports on many of the lakes in the area.

The campsite itself lies on the banks of the Verdon and boasts 2 swimming pools with waterslides, a restaurant and a pizzeria. In high season there are plenty of activites for both adults and children. This really is a first class campsite offering both excellent facilities and accommodation. Select Provence in the booking engine at the top of this page.

Calais is an ideal port to sail in to and you can book your ferry once you've selected your accomodation. If you'd prefer to book your ferry separately, please visit our ferries to france page. Getting to Provence from the UK is easy enough, but is still a considerable journey. We suggest booking an overnight hotel or a campsite further north for a few nights to get the most of your holiday.
